Philip Bassett (chairman) is a partner at Permira, a European private equity firm, where he has worked for the past 15 years. He studied Classics at Oxford and is a Chartered Accountant.

Alex Campbell qualified as a lawyer with Lovells, working in London and abroad. He then moved to the world of Finance and Hedge Funds and is a CFA Charterholder. He studied Classics at Oxford.

Varun Chandra works for Tony Blair as an adviser on international business and economics. He also consults for small companies on business development, and is a primary school governor. He was previously an investment banker at Lehman Brothers, and studied PPE at Oxford.

Louis Elson is Managing Partner of Palamon Capital Partners, a European private equity firm he co-founded in 1999. He is a Trustee of Impetus Trust and on the Development Board of The Prince's Trust. He studied Classics and History at Harvard.

Elena Phyrillas is an international heritage consultant. Her clients include UNESCO Heritage Sites and National Museums; she studied Classics at Oxford, her family is from Cyprus, she got married in Crete!

Alexander Stevenson helped launch FT.com. He recently sold his own public sector consultancy to the Tribal Group. A Cambridge Classicist, he works for the Citizens Advice Bureau and the Young Foundation.
